A large, modern refinery
The CORE units were started up, including a four drum coker, vacuum flasher, hydrogen plant, and two sulfur recovery units among many additions and upgrades. The Wood River Refinery began receiving Canadian heavy crude oil via the Keystone Pipeline. ConocoPhillips spun off their downstream assets into Phillips 66, which continues to operate the refinery in partnership with Cenovus. Phillips 66 products are marketed under the Phillips 66, Conoco, and 76 trademarks. (ConocoPhillips is a separate company engaged in crude oil exploration and production.) After many years of control systems modernization, refinery operations were consolidated into a Central Control Room.
